Laurelhurst Fan Company

 I recently discovered another reason to love Portland : the Laurelhurst Fan Company.
You can pick out your own color combinations, grille style, and more. They will even refurbish a fan you already have, or sell just the grille to replace the boring one that came with your house. Ah, the ways  to spend $500 or more just blow my mind. It does give me some ideas involving spray paint though...

If I had room in my house, I would buy these*. Even though they are from Ikea.

a.) they are actually wood

b.) they are fun colors

c.) I have piles of books everywhere.

*on a side note, I would probably not use the glass doors that come with the red bookcase.

Crate and Barrel Jules Tables, $199 & $299

Jayson Home & Garden Greta Table, $259

Is it just me, or are these the same tables with different names? I understand there are subtle differences, but if I had to choose... I would choose the cheapest one. {which is the small Jules table, but I would really want the larger size, which Greta doesn't have...either way, I am not spending close to $300 on a side table anytime soon, even though I love these}

Sadly, it isn't round, but for that price, I think I could live with it. Wisteria is a land mine kind of site, with lots of great items, and some not-so-great items,  mostly affordable, some not. It is worth a look anyway.

I received an email {thank you Lee!} from Pieces, a boutique in Atlanta, Georgia. I immediately fell in love with this sofa, {you know how I am about sofas...} and wished I had a whole pile of money to blow at her store. It is full of wonderful lighting, vintage furniture and lots of accessories. I didn't see anything that wasn't really great.

Black Dog

For anyone in VA, Black Dog Salvage is your hometown salvage yard. For me, it's just another excuse to stare at library ladders I will never have. Also, the horse? If I had a spare pile of cash I might consider it, since he is quite fantastic.  Have you ever watched the movie Black Dog? It is hard to pass on a movie with a cast including Patric Swayze, Meatloaf, and Randy Travis.

My Hero

$29 at Lamps Plus

It seems impossible to watch anything on TV anymore without analyzing the decor. While feeling slightly let down by the new season of Heroes, I was comforted by the orange lampshades in Claire's room. You can get your own for cheap at Lamps Plus. I pretty much think they would look good on anything.
